Functions of Food Department:
1. Implementation of government food management and policies and strengthening of food safety systems;
2. Food grain import-export and civil supply management;
3. Collection, storage, movement and distribution management of food grains (rice and wheat);
4. Stabilizing the market price of food grains and facilitating the availability of nutritious food;
5. Adequate food grain storage, storage, food quality testing and maintenance.
